Korean pianist Dr. Park's versatile qualities as a soloist, collaborative pianist, and chamber musician, and pedagogue, distinguishing herself as a dynamic performer and dedicated educator. 

Dr. Sunkyong Park started to play the piano at the age of 7 and made her solo debut at the age of 13. A prizewinner in numerous competitions in Korea, and she graduated from Sunhwa Arts middle & high school in South Korea. Dr. Park earned her Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from Yonsei University with an excellence scholarship for her outstanding academic and musical acheivements, where she studied with Prof. kyung-sook Lee. She moved to the United States to pursue a master of music degree in piano performance at Peabody Institute of The Johns Hopkins University, where she studied with Prof. Ms. Hahn. She obtained a Doctoral degree at the University of Texas at Austin where she studied with Prof. Gregory Allen in May, 2018.  After that, she also earned another Master's degree as a collaborative accompanist at the same university (UT Austin) in 2021.

Dr. Park played recitals and chamber concerts at festivals including the Wiener Musickseminar, Eumyoun Summer Music Festival, TSIPF and The Music Festival of Australian Institutue of Music. She also has performed at Mozart hall, Kumho art hall, Youngsan grace hall, Griswold hall, Cohen-Davision Theatre, Goodwin hall, Jessen Hall, Bates recital Hall, Performing Arts Center at Texas, McCollough Theatre, Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall. Ms. Park has won many prizes from multiple famous competitions such as Yega young Gifted competition, Haneum Young Gifted competition, Wiener Musicseminar competition, Nanpa Music competition, Music Journal competition, Eumyoun, SAC Music competition, Sidney Wright Award, IMKA Music competition, Golden Classical Music competition, and NYAIC. Besides, she takes master classes with Anton Nel, Boris Slutsky, Alexander Kobrin, Marina Lomazov, Elizabeth Pridonoff, Tokyo Quartet, and Miro Quartet. 

She is also very interested in chamber music, so she formed The Selah Trio. In 2017, the group was a finalist in the Coleman Chamber Music Association. Also, during public outreach programs and collaboration over the past year, she has received much recognition and praise for their artistry. Her collaborative work also includes serving as pianist for the Stanford Symphonic Chorus, where she has contributed to rehearsals and performances with excellence.

Along side her performing career, Dr Park has been teaching piano for more than 18 years at institutions including UT Austin and Peabody Preparatory School and is deeply committed to music education. She is the founder and director of Sunny's Piano Studio, where she actively trains students for recitals, competitions, and ensemble performances. She is also active member of the Music Teacher National Association of the Americas, the Music Teacher's Association of California, and CAPMT.
